ACC

CELLS AND MODULES

ACC, Automotive Cells Company, was founded in 2020 and aims to become the European leader in batteries for electric vehicles. Our aim is to accelerate the transition to cleaner, greener transport for all. We intend to achieve this by revolutionizing battery technology and producing long-lasting, affordable, high-capacity batteries. We are also building a powerful global network of R&D associates, industrial partners and suppliers.

ACC designs and produces the cells and modules that store energy. These active elements are then assembled into battery packs by automakers to power vehicles.

We are backed by three shareholders – Saft-TotalEnergies, Stellantis and Mercedes – as well as by the European authorities, particularly in France, Germany and Italy. From these three countries, we will develop and industrialize the next generations of energy sources.

ACC is an extremely ambitious, innovative and international project. We have a clear plan and are up to date in its execution. As a high-tech company, we have invested 7 billion euros in the early stages of our development. Our R&D center in Bruges near Bordeaux is up and running and producing its first prototypes. The pilot plant at Nersac, near Angoulême, is in operation. Construction of our first Gigafactory at Billy-Berclau Douvrin is complete and will be producing cells by the end of 2023. Within the next two years, we will further strengthen our innovation and production capabilities with a new applied engineering center and a second Gigafactory in Germany, as well as a third Gigafactory in Italy.

We are developing a new generation of sustainable and efficient batteries: fast-charging, safe and affordable. We draw on Saft’s experience in the production of high-tech batteries, as well as on the expertise of Stellantis and Mercedes in the production of quality vehicles. With these technologies and a solid structure, we can focus on innovation and the development of ever more efficient products.
