Axens is an IFP Energies Nouvelles Group company. IFP Energies Nouvelles is a top ranked French public R&D center.
Axens is a major catalyst producer, its technical expertise implies the same kind of chemical processes and equipment commonly involved in the production of precursors of Cathod active materials. Axens is developing an industrial project in France through a Joint Venture with LICO, a major and recognized pCAM & CAM chinese manufacturer. The objective is to develop and produce pCAM and CAM NMC type (622, 811, 631, poly and single cristal) in France by Q1 2027.
In parallel, Axens unique shareholder, IFPEN, is developing an ambitious R&D program to work on alternative cathod active materials such as High-Nickel CAM (for solid state applications) and High-Manganese CAM.
Lastly, Axens is working on its historic portfolio of adsorbents and alumina to implement innovative materials applied to the battery value chain, as a coating for the batteries’ separator (alumina) and trapping element (adsorbents) for the raw metals’ refining.
