Advanced thermal barriers

Today we are witnessing an exponential increase in the e-mobility market. Two key requirements are a longer range and of course, safety in use.

To achieve these goals, all original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and battery pack manufacturers are focusing on increasing the energy density of cells, increasing the number of cells in the modules and decreasing the weight. At the same time, and due to the emergence of this new market, regulations are also evolving and regulatory requirements are becoming increasingly stringent in terms of battery safety.

Enersens now offers a breakthrough solution for all these aspects and regulatory constraints: a silica aerogel based advanced material, ultra-thin and very light, creating a real protective barrier to avoid all the safety problems. Designed to be placed between cells, enduring compression stress, the Skogar® is the key product to prevent thermal runaway from cell to cell thanks to extreme insulation properties, excellent mechanical properties and high fire stability.

Enersens is now involved in numerous projects with a key European player in batteries. Our partners produce and sell batteries for the aerospace, marine, off-road and electric vehicle markets.
